By 2050, Vietnam will become the world's leading agricultural country

(Chinhphu.vn) - By 2050, Vietnam will become one of the leading agricultural countries in the world with a modern, efficient and environmentally friendly agricultural product processing industry. The countryside no longer has poor households and becomes a "place worth living", civilized, green, clean and beautiful.
 
 
Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh has just signed Decision No. 150/QD-TTg, approving the Strategy for Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development in the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.
The common goal of building a commodity-producing agriculture and developing agriculture based on local advantages, in the direction of modernity, with high productivity, quality, efficiency, sustainability and competitiveness, belongs to the leading group. in the region and in the world, firmly ensuring national food security, making an important contribution to socio-economic stability, preventing and combating natural disasters and epidemics, protecting the environment, responding to climate change, effectively implementing international commitments on reducing greenhouse gas emissions; improve income, quality of life, role and position of people involved in agricultural production; create non-agricultural jobs to develop diversified livelihoods, reduce poverty sustainably for rural people, ensure equal development opportunities among regions; comprehensive and modern rural development associated with the process of urbanization, with synchronous infrastructure and social services and close to urban areas; preserve and promote national cultural identity; building green, clean, beautiful countryside, security and order are guaranteed; to develop agriculture and rural economy in association with new rural construction in the direction of highly efficient ecological agriculture, modern rural areas and civilized farmers.

Specifically, by 2030, the GDP growth rate of agriculture, forestry and fishery products will reach an average of 2.5 - 3% per year, the productivity growth rate of agricultural, forestry and fishery workers will reach an average of 5.5 - 6 %/five; expand and develop markets, especially export markets. The growth rate of the export value of agro-forestry-fishery products reaches an average of 5-6%/year.

Increase people's income, reduce poverty sustainably. The income of rural residents is 2.5 - 3 times higher than in 2020. The rate of multidimensional poverty households in rural areas decreases on average by 1-1.5%/year.

The proportion of agricultural laborers in the total social labor decreased to less than 20%, the rate of trained agricultural workers reached over 70%.
